Hummingbird watercolor exercise

In my book 'watercolor in simpele stappen' (soon to be translated in watercolor in simple steps) is published in Dutch, and offers 25 projects of how to paint a certain subject. This hummingbird exercise (image above) is one of my favorite projects in the book and has been translated in English in the downloadable PDF below. The exercise was also used in a online workshop during the Kreadoe festival (2021) in the Netherlands. You can find the video below the PFD. It is spoken in Dutch, but you can activate the subtitles in English in the setting menu of the video.

The instruction in the PDF shows different stages of the painting process and all materials and colors that have been used. I hope you will enjoy painting the hummingbird yourself!
